| Two decidedly different cities that share one of the most picturesque landscapes anywhere in the world. Anyone who has spend time in and around Puget sound will tell you that this area, ringed with snow-capped mountains and evergreen forests is one of the most magical places in the world. The great thing about all of this is that all of these sights, smells and excitement is just minutes from your hotels here in Seattle and Tacoma. There are not too many cities in the world where you can stay inan urban enviroment, chock full of great coffee houses and restaurants and within an hour or so drive be in the middle of nature.
Seattle offers great (and somewhat pricey) hotels set in one of the most fantastic and rapidly growing cities in the country. An explosion of new building is pushing this city forward at record pace, and should be experienced during and after this growth period has slowed a bit. Additionally, there are a few great attractions that call Seattle home. Unlike Anaheim down in soCal, the attractions here are a bit more tranquil in nature and introspective in thought. The EMP (Experience Music project), located at the foot of another great attraction, the Space needle, offers a glimps into the world of Rock n Roll. This is a must see for anyone who enjoys music, not just the hoards of rabid music fans that desend on this location in the heart of the city. Then its off to the Space needle, luch/dinner at the top and perhaps a quick tram ride downtown to trip the light fantastic! Tacoma, looming in the shadow of Seattle also offers some great hotel deals. The hotels that call Tacoma home offer good, comfortable accommondations close to all the attractions and sights that call Puget sound home and are a great option for those traveling on a budget or when the hotels in Seattle are all booked up. If you are looking at heading into the city on popular weekends/holidays consider taking AMTRAK. It drops you off near the Baseball/Football stadiums and you are then just a quick cab ride away form all that this great area has to offer. |
